Offthewall.tv takes you behind the scenes this week with autistic skater Raymond Wetzel to uncover his journey with autism. Erin Wetzel, mother to Raymond, discusses the profound impact that the A.skate foundation has made on her son.
Offthewall.tv is proud to partner with the producers of Heart Child, a documentary film about 29-year-old Crys Worley, the founder of the A.skate Foundation and mother of nine-year-old autistic child, Sasha. Heart Child chronicles Crys’ remarkable story about a mother’s struggles, not only with her own health, but of the well-being of her son. Inspired by the commitment of dedicated parents of autistic children and her own pledge to Sasha to never give up, Crys started the A.skate Foundation – Skating with Kids through Acceptance, Therapy, and Education.
The A.skate Foundation is a non-profit organization that allows children with autism to be a part of our social world through skateboarding. A.skate holds clinics for children with autism at no cost to the families and offers grants to children with autism for skateboard gear, while promoting awareness and education about autism and skateboarding to the families.
